About UsAll Praise is for Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala the Rabb of A’alameen. May the peace and blessings be upon His final Prophet and Messenger Mohammad Salallahu Alayhi WasSalam his family and his companions. Dar Al-Arqam was established since Summer 2008 we provide an education to our local community as well as those outside the community. Our endeavour is to help increase the spiritual level of a believer through Islamic education by teaching them the correct understanding of the Quran and Sunnah as understood by the Salaf and thus preserve the Deen. In conjunction with teaching Islamic knowledge we intend to provide Tazqiyah (purification) and Tarbiyah (Mentoring) for the believer’s hearts so that we can rectify our actions in front of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, as well as having good manners and dealings with His SWT’s creation. “Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own (and indeed Allah answered their invocation by sending Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), who shall recite unto them Your Verses and instruct them in the Book (this Qur'an) and Al-Hikmah (full knowledge of the Islamic laws and jurisprudence or wisdom or Prophethood), and purify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." (Surah Al Baqarah V;129)
The structure of teaching in Dar Al Arqam is to deliver a sound and a comprehensive understanding in the sciences of the deen. Our classes are intended to be taught in a long-term base and not short-term, due to the strong emphasis on building teacher and student relationship in order that the student is mentored so that he becomes a better role model in society, so he can carry that knowledge from the teacher and pass it onto the society. This way the chain is preserved on whom the knowledge is taken from and who it’s been passed onto for the continuation of this chain.
All our Islamic Education is provided free of charge, no reward is sought except from Allah Subhanahu WaTa’ala. Allah Subhanahu WaTa’ala due to the immense honour of this knowledge, commands the Prophets and Messengers not to ask from the creation any reward in return for conveying this Great Trust of Allah Subhanahu WaTa’ala;
“They are those whom Allâh had guided. So follow their guidance. Say: "No reward I ask of you for this (the Qur'ân, Wahee). It is only a reminder for the 'Alamîn.” (Surah Al An’am; 90)
Some of the subjects that are currently being taught in Dar Al Arqam are Hifdh, Aqeeda, Fiqh, Uloom ul Quran and Arabic Language. We intend to cover all the sciences of Islam such as science of Hadeeth, Tafseer, Usool ul Fiqh and others. The ultimate purpose of these Uloom being taught is for one to get closer to his Rabb Jallaa Wa A’alaa and to achieve a high platform in the Hereafter. The purpose of gaining knowledge is not only to spread what his learnt, rather it’s for him to better himself in his ibada and his relationship with his Rabb and the adaab with the creation. The dissemination of this knowledge to his family and community is after the individual has rectified himself in his belief, understanding, and actions. We all should strive to gain knowledge as many great virtues lies upon this path.
“The one who treads upon the path, seeking in it Knowledge, Alláh through it will lead him to a Path of Jannah. And indeed, the Angels lower their wings in satisfaction for the Seeker of Knowledge. And verily, for the `Álim (Scholar), everything in the skies and earth ask for him to be forgiven, even the fish in the sea. And truly the status of an `Álim over a worshiper is like the Moon over all the the planets...” [Abú Dáwud, Tirmidhee and others (Hasan)]
